TÜV Rheinland Academy & Life Care signed the memorandum with Shymkent City Akimat
Eleven memoranda worth a total of $200 million were signed at the Shymkent Development forum-2018. The main goal of the forum — to improve the investment climate in Shymkent and increase the inflow of investments in the economy of the third mega-city of the country — has been achieved.
The first international investment forum was attended by Kazakhstani and foreign business representatives, experts in the field of attracting investments, representatives of government agencies, financial and educational institutions, transnational corporations CNN, National Geographic, World Bank, authors of new projects, 300 potential investors — heads of well-known companies from Kazakhstan, Germany, Denmark, Russia, Canada, China, Spain, South Korea, Lithuania, Estonia, UAE, Kuwait, Uzbekistan.
The head of the metropolis spoke about strategic projects, including the upcoming reconstruction of the railway station in Shymkent in 2019, the purchase of 1000 buses for public transport, the construction of a bypass road and much more. In 2019, the reconstruction of the Central Stadium named after Kazhymukan will also begin, which will be completed in the first half of 2020. It will be the most modern stadium in the republic.
Other speakers at the forum included the General Director of Copenhagenize Design Co., ex-mayor of Copenhagen Morten Cable, a well-known Russian urbanist, author of the «City for People» project Arkady Gershman, World Bank Resident Representative in Kazakhstan Otto Brown, and Regional Director of TÜV Rheinland Academy & Life Care for Eastern Europe Nicolas Notis.
The investment forum in Shymkent has become very effective. Eleven memoranda were signed for a total of 200 million US dollars. Foreign investors were interested in large projects of Shymkent — construction of a textile factory for the production of microfiber, modernization of technical vocational educaton, modernization of the city ambulance fleet, construction of residential houses, administrative buildings and a new park in the territory of «Shymkent city».
Modernization of technical vocational education in colleges in Shymkent on the principle of public-private partnership has also not been left without attention. The memorandum was signed by the Shymkent City Akimat, Asia-Trafo LLP and the German company TÜV Rheinland Academy & Life Care.
